Do you know a young person in the community with a high sense of leadership, desire to work in the community and develop their personal and professional skills?

Nominate them to sit on the Red Cross Youth Leadership Council

The Mt. Baker Chapter of the American Red Cross youth leadership program is designed to encourage and nurture humanitarian work through hands on learning. This is an opportunity for young leaders in our community to get active locally with a world wide organization.

The complete council is a youth led group of self motivated individuals that work to further the Red Cross mission through community projects that the group initiates and facilitates. Youth Leadership Council members are also involved in a variety of community leadership and service learning activities including:

  • Ambassadors - acting as ambassadors at chapter and in the community.
  • Educators - Teaching others to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies through disaster preparedness and first aid training.
  • Fundraising - raising money for international, national and local chapter services.
  • Leadership Events - attending a variety of different events, including a local Leadership Development seminar and/or week camp, National Youth Institutes and the American Red Cross National Convention.

Youth Leadership Council members develop and implement projects in their communities and schools with the support and supervision of the Public Support Coordinator.
