Health and Safety Services Marketing Intern  Description

Title:

 Health and Safety Services Marketing Intern

 

 

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the director of Health and Safety Services with building our Contract customer base by developing and implementing an effective Marketing program for our products and services.

 

 

 

Reports To:

Director of Health and Safety Services

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Represent the American Red Cross in a professional manner.
  • Maintain the integrity of American Red Cross philosophy and fundamental principles when communicating with the public.
  • Work with diverse individuals.
  • Become familiar with Red Cross products and services.
  • Review marketing materials and make recommendations with regard to which materials to use.
  • Assist in reviewing our Marketing Plan and make recommendations regarding the best way to increase our market share.
  • Develop up to date contact and customer lists for Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
  • Using current marketing materials, create and use outreach letters and emails directed to potential Contract customers.
  • Follow up with customers with the intent of selling Red Cross products and services.
  • Create and maintain a system for measuring the success of our marketing efforts.
  • Ensure community websites have accurate and updated information regarding Red Cross products and services.

 

 

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Create a blueprint for Red Cross staff and volunteers to follow.
  • Collaborate with American Red Cross staff to accomplish goals.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.

 

Key Relationships

  • Business owners, community partners and professional Red Cross non profit staff.

 

 

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Customer Service and Sales background recommended.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

 

 

 

Time Commitment:

10 - 12 hours per week
